Director’s Thoughts – September 2020

Summer 2020 was not the summer of LRC Past!

With your input, much deliberation and intentional vigilance to comply with health/safety requirements, we proceeded cautiously, which led to a successful summer of student learning gains.

Due to COVID-19, we adjusted procedures specific to each summer program to include smaller group sizes, lower enrollment occupancy, social distancing regulations, temperature checks, increased sanitizing efforts, masks and gloves for counselors/instructors and designated individual supplies or entirely remote course offerings.

As this fall semester begins, we promise that your student’s safety remains our top concern. We are offering many programs virtually and implementing learning hubs for subject tutoring, homework support and academic coaching. While we may not have all the answers during this challenging time, we guarantee that we’ll keep monitoring, adapting and utilizing the best practices to keep our students, tutors, staff, and community safe. Your student’s health is important to us–his or her physical, mental, emotional and ACADEMIC health.
