Video Game Design and Coding Workshop

Explore the basics of video game design and coding in a fun and friendly environment! LRC’s Video Game Design and Coding Workshop is led by a STEM educator to help students discover the fundamentals of code in an exciting and productive learning domain.

Program Goals:

To explore and learn the basics of coding in a fun, friendly environment!

Who:

Available to students entering 6th or 7th grade in 2026-2027
*Limited enrollment

What:

Students who attend the workshop learn the basics of coding, gain program design experience, engage with the Click Team Fusion, practice the DND programming language, use student imagination in game-based learning, develop skills through interaction and review, and learn to use OPEN SOURCE.

Students will bring their own laptop. Laptops on loan PER REQUEST.

Additional Details:

  • Parents are responsible for arranging transportation. There is no before or after school care. Please be on time.
  • Students will bring their own laptop. Laptops are on loan PER REQUEST.
  • Please ask about our Sliding Fee Scale based on gross family income.
  • Scholarships from generous donors are available to deserving students in need.
