Volunteer with LRC at the 25th PigFest BBQ Event
PigFest 2022 is on:
The Learning Resource Center has the opportunity to fill 100+ volunteer shifts and log 350 hours during the signature Bar-B-Q fest’s 25th event on January 26-29!
Each year, the Learning Resource Center partners with PigFest, providing volunteers to assist. In return, LRC earns funds based on the amount of service hours that LRC staff, board members, and community volunteers serve.
This is where you can help:
LRC’s gratitude overflows for the many awesome volunteers who dedicate their time to serve with LRC annually. Just as years past, LRC volunteer opportunities will take place in the judging area (ages 16+), on golf cart shuttles (ages 18+ with valid driver’s license-proof required), and at the VIP Party (ages 21+).
The 25th annual event opens to the public on Friday, January 28 from 5-10 p.m. and continues through Saturday, January 29 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Sun ‘n Fun campus in Lakeland. Over 150 competition barbecue teams will participate. LRC volunteers will be able to enjoy the event’s savory cuisine, lively entertainment before or after their shifts.
What LRC volunteers say about PigFest:
“I’ve been looking forward to working PigFest again, since that last event. I look forward to hearing from you about the available volunteer opportunities at this year’s event.” -R. Halstead
“This will be my third time volunteering, and I love doing so every time. Volunteering for an event like PigFest, that brings the community together, is rewarding when you see the smiles on guests’ faces and can appreciate the hard work of local organizations.” -J.Torres
